I'm hopeful that a huge silent majority shows up, and it is a landslide win that loudly sends the message to the spineless GOP who have been complicit to Trump's chaos and vile hatred that America is done with both of them.
Sadly, however, I fear he has planted seeds of chaos, and no matter what happens on Tuesday, they will grow into weeds of turmoil for our country. A lot of downtown Portland businesses have already boarded up their doors and windows with the anticipation of potential unrest!
I hope you are right, Michael. But like you I know even if she does win by a landslide, Trump and his followers will claim he won, and there will be turmoil. After that, though, I hope Trump will disappear into the dust-heap of history. But I thought that after the 2020 election too!
Such a stark difference -- between light and life, and darkness and turmoil. May Kamala Harris win this election and turn the tide. Vote today, vote early!
I love your spirit and mindset. Part of our mission is to keep cool heads while this turbulence works itself out.
Something I keep repeating on here is to not give in to fear and anger. We have to stay above it to avoid getting pulled back down in it.
Paul Levy, MD, wrote a couple books about wetiko, a native concept representing essentially a mind virus.
Part of the mind virus is that it causes us to evolve in response to it. I think/hope that’s what we’re witnessing. Many of us are waking up to the scam that is capitalism and corporate rule. I don’t see this system proceeding on forever into the future. There’s got to be an end game - which necessitates a new beginning.
Thanks, Jared. You are so right, fear and anger poison the mind. We all have to guard against that. I'll have to take a look at that book about wetiko. Sounds interesting.
The way I learned about it may interest you even more!
I was sitting down one morning to work on my book and I had a thought enter my head, seemingly unprompted - that we are all maybe battling some kind of a mind virus. It was kind of an intuitive feeling or notion.
I’ve heard the phrase used derisively in the context of “woke mind virus” as an insult against those on the left, so I discarded the idea as childish nonsense.
But when the idea of “mind virus” popped into my head, I had to search for it. If someone hadn’t already written about it, I was going to… and they had. Paul Levy, MD!
Thanks for sharing that, Jared. Intuition is a powerful thing. I used to listen to New Dimensions radio long ago. I didn’t know it was still available! Thanks for sending the link. I’ll try connecting with them, as well as Levy.
You're welcome, Deborah! And if I may recommend one more resource while I'm at it - Jeff Mishlove recently created New Thinking Allowed Magazine.
It's mostly transcripts of his interviews on YouTube, but there's some really thought-provoking stuff in there. This particular issue features Chris Bledsoe, who is basically a modern-day prophet.
He wrote an excellent book called UFO of God. If you ever need a new book to read, that's worth your time. Truly unbelievable!
Thanks for injecting this positive message into the public discourse, Deborah. I love your mantra. And I absolutely agree with you on this: "It’s all on the inside, with ourselves, our own thoughts, our own hearts. That’s where the battle against hate and deceit is fought and won."
Thank you, Andrew. Unfortunately there's lots of hate and anger out there, and in the comments to this post, sadly. So it’s especially good to hear you say this today.
I like this: “You don’t have to love them. You just have to love.”
I'm with you all the way on this. Eventually humankind may evolve to full love. Likely it's not going to happen this week , no matter who wins the election but I am not giving up on love.
Are you serious? Deborah, I can only diagnose psychosis. Harris is an unabashed genocider. In support and enabling the worst of the worst. Nothing, nada, not a drop of love there. Just self-promotion and ambition. You may believe there is a gray zone here/there - I'll leave Levi for the final thoughts about that - read his book about the holocaust and genocide. He speaks well of Harris and her ilk. Anyone who votes for Harris is clearly siding with evil. Doesn't matter, anything else. Stamp of approval that nobody should ever wield.

You are so right, Russell. It's hard to see why anyone would vote for Trump, or how the polls could be so close!

He did an interview with New Dimensions Radio that you can find on Spotify if you search for ‘wetiko.’ It’s also available for a couple of dollars here: https://programs.newdimensions.org/products/wetiko-the-deceptive-mind-virus-of-the-psyche-with-paul-levy
I am trying to spread awareness of this concept to more people, because I think it’s an apt metaphor for what we seem to be collectively experiencing.

I'm with you too, Gracie! Not giving up on love, no matter what happens.

Aw, David. I'm so sorry you feel this way. Peace to you.
