I love how real San Balanque feels in your novel. I spent time in Guatemala and Nicaragua in the 90's and felt right at home in This Sea Within. Thank you for the great research references! Incredibly well done, Deborah!

What an extraordinary post--and an excellent introduction to your book. A heartfelt congratulations for bringing it to market.

The nod to Kite Runner--tells me everything I need to know. One of my favorite books of all time...

Thank you, Diana, that's so lovely of you to say. I loved Kite Runner too and was as thrilled as surprised with that nod. Thank you too for the restack.

Thank you for sharing your research with us, Deborah. It feels as if the US is fighting another Revolutionary War, albeit mostly in the courts.

You are so welcome, Liz. Yes, the state of affairs here in the US and elsewhere is frightening. I am happy we are winning in court. I hope we will the battle and the "revolution" there.

I certainly hope so. I guess my backup plan is my eligibility for Canadian citizenship on my mother’s side. (Not that I want to upend my entire life.)

LOL! Canada may be getting a lot of immigrants from the US

Yes, I expect so. A writer friend of mine who was living in San Francisco saw the handwriting on the wall early on and is now living in British Columbia.
